Stained Glass Windows
Come, Holy Ghost, Creator blest, and in our hearts take
Up Thy rest; Come with Thy grace and heav’nly aid
To fill the hearts which thou has made.
Holy Spirit Windows
The stain glass windows on the south wall depict the descent of the Holy Spirit over the baptismal waters. Recalling Christ’s own baptism in the Jordan and from the Old Testament the dove bearing the olive branch at the time of the Great Flood. The Holy Spirit Windows reach out to the windows on the east and west walls of the Narthex, clearly expressing the waters of baptism. They in turn flow into the windows of the inner Church which portray the vine and branches, reminding those partaking at the Eucharist of their intimate sacramental relationship with Christ. Ultimately, the windows closest to the Sanctuary appear as flames representing the fire of Divine Love.
Praise be to Thee, Father and Son, and Holy Spirit,
Three in one; And may the Son on us bestow
The gifts that from the Spirit flow.
